it’s a high 8 imo because it kept me interested
Line of Events
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup. storage facility in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison.. This series reminded me of the Fargo series which I loved..
90% of it from Quebec
just sad that it only has 6 30 minute episodes . Margo Martindale is her usual wonderful self…she loves all her roles. I didn’t know that Canada produces over 70% of the world’s maple syrup… I remember a story 10-12 years ago about a maple syrup heist in Quebec…
worth millions of dollars so I had to look it up
All the supporting cast are amazing too…the story has a French/Quebec flavor (syrup analogy lol). The music is interesting because all these famous hits are tastefully remade in French with beautiful voices. The scenery is so Quebec countryside, which adds realism to the story. The story is a drama, but with a bit of tasteful comedy.
a must see
Jamie Lee really adds to it and it was great to see her back on screen. It’s not a long drawn out series like many so it’s a nice change of light… Highly recommend… "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
