It tells the story of three very different families who are competing to own the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they think will solve all their problems. I was surprised to see the show rated as low as it is, but it makes a lot more sense after seeing a lot of the reviews, explaining how they didn’t make it past the first episode. The show is a slow-burn mystery thriller that may not be for everyone. I personally found it funny and entertaining, with a Liz Feldman-esque tone that I enjoy. I really like the cast, and everyone’s performances. I wasn’t sold on Ray Romano at first because of my own biases (I couldn’t separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond for the life of me), but that wore off pretty quickly. Each character has their own subplot that creates a tangled web of chaos that gradually, though not completely, unravels. I was pretty engrossed in the story in the last episode, even though I had the main plot figured out pretty early on. I’m not mad about it though. I want to see more of this show, and I really hope they get a second season. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly — here’s the full lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
