The intended audience should be parents
Line of Events
A woman puts her career on hold to become a housewife and mother, but her home life soon takes a surreal turn. The film was originally set to be released directly to Hulu, but strong response during test screenings prompted Searchlight Pictures to release it instead. It is set to be released in major theaters instead. Quoted on Saturday Night Live: Jean Smart/Jelly Roll (2024). “Riding Carousel” Presented by Alexander McCabe Written by Alexander McCabe. The film is generally good, but I expected it to be darker and scarier than it was funny.
Adams is undeniably great
While I am not a parent at the moment, I can totally relate to the themes discussed. If you have questions about motherhood and female rage, this film may be enlightening for you. The script is also well-written; some of the dialogue from the characters is very sharp. Marielle Heller is definitely a talented director who can turn a seemingly impossible book into a successful film. This is the best performance I’ve seen from her to date, and perhaps the best performance I’ve seen this year. It’s a career-defining achievement.
She’s fierce, bold, and funny
She’s truly inhabited the role. The depth of her performance is evident in the intricate detail of her facial expressions, which beautifully convey anger, joy, and pain. Adams embodies the role of a mother with an authenticity that resonates deeply, likely drawn from her own real-life experiences as a mother. This personal connection elevates their performances and makes them seem both believable and authentic. I can’t help but feel a strong connection between her portrayal and my own mother, as if she’s capturing the essence of a mother’s love and sacrifice in a way that really resonates with me. So far, this film seems to be divisive.
No, definitely not
I’ve seen some people disapprove of her performance, and many have felt that Adams shouldn’t have won or even been nominated for this bizarre role. For me, acting awards are always for the performance, not the film. She is the vehicle of the film. She should definitely be nominated and even win. The passion should not disappear. I hope more people will understand and relate to my comments.
That being said, Scoot McNairy is also fantastic
Despite some shortcomings, the film is worth seeing. Check out our list of exciting new films from this year’s film festivals, including Venice, TIFF, the New York Film Festival and more.
