A modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs. A landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as a go-between for exploration companies and landowners.
They essentially manage the land and secure leases to drill for oil and gas
Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. As foremen on a construction site, they build roads, worker housing (man camp), oversee the assembly of excavation machinery, and the drilling of the well site itself, especially in remote locations.
Pretty good, funny
They are also part of the fixer, problem solver, and helper. Link to CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022).
I think they do a pretty good job of balancing both political perspectives (oil and renewables)
While there is definitely an oil bias and I don’t always agree with the message they are trying to convey to the viewer, I think it needs to be explored. As I said at the beginning, this show is hilarious and Billy Bob Thornton is incredibly sharp.
I think he gains real wisdom in every other episode by not frying people every time he opens his mouth
I don’t know why IMDb makes people write so much for what should be a short and easy to understand couple of sentences.
