Cable TV wasn’t working so I found this by accident
Line of Events
It follows a failed high school heavy metal band of renegades who use the town’s sudden interest in the occult to gain a reputation as a satanic metal band, until a strange series of events sparks a witch hunt that leads them back. All episode titles are songs by heavy metal/hard rock bands. Hysteria by Def Lepard, Heaven’s on fire by KISS, Speaking in languages โโโโโโโโโโโby Meatloaf, Can I play with madness by Iron Maiden, Die young by Black Sabbath, Mother by Danzig, It’s late by Queen and Dance Macabre by Ghost.
The Peacock is not my usual streamer, but I got a good price for it
Basically, I wasn’t expecting much, but I love a good horror comedy and this was better than expected. I like that it’s set in the 80’s because it had a “leave it to beaver” feel to it. The parents are what you’d expect from an 80s TV series When a teenage soccer star goes missing and is later found in what appears to be a ritualistic death, the two stories begin to run parallel.
The two main characters are Linda and Tracey
Three outcasts who have a hard rock band that no one goes to decide to use it as a way to get publicity for their band. They convince everyone that they are Satanists, which works for a moment, but then makes them prime suspects in the murder. Another story is that all adults go into frothy religious hysteria (get it) over their children.
But it also shows that there is real danger masked by fear and paranoia
Tracey is a good villain in this, as she is perfectly willing to use Linda’s fear of not understanding her son and his choices as a way to send the town into hysteria. The show isn’t perfect, but it says interesting things about how parents fear they won’t understand their kids if they don’t follow a plan for them. It’s a fun show and if you’re looking for something to watch, it’s worth checking out.
