He’s cute. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. In season eight, Angel Batista was not always played by David Zayas.
His son David Zayas, Jr
replaces his father in some shots, as they look very similar. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season two, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side intact.

Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of, let’s say, a problematic sociopath
Dexter, a forensic expert by day, a serial killer with a penchant for execution by night. One of my favorite parts of the show is the emotions that normal people display, thus forcing Dexter to emulate them. It’s a good laugh when the emotions that Dexter fakes become real and he is scared to death, as in his relationship with his “girlfriend” Rita, a mother of two and victim of her tyrannical ex-boyfriend.
Fascinating story, lots of detail and one of the best opening walls ever
I also liked Jennifer Carpenter’s performance as Dexter’s sister, Debra, which adds a nice touch to the show without falling into cliché.
