Fortiche Productions recorded a music video titled “Get Jinxed” for Riot in 2013, featuring Jinx and the city of Piltover. Riot was so impressed with the work that they asked Fortiche to create an animated series, which took them several years to create. After the release of the first season, Riot announced that there would be a second season and that it would take less time to produce.

This has no right to be as good as it is. I mean, it’s based on a video game, since when has that ever been anything more than passable? But despite that, it’s one of the best shows I’ve watched in a long time.
Arcane does everything right that so many shows and movies do wrong these days
I just watched the first episode of the new Wheel of Time adaptation and was disappointed with that, went looking for something else and just saw that this one was getting good reviews. I quickly fell in love with it and watched the entire season in one sitting. They respect all of their characters, making sure you understand why they do what they do and making you feel for them. They take just the right amount of time to draw you into the story and world before the major plot points happen, so you really feel their impact. They set everything up well in advance and make sure to give you the right payoff so nothing feels rushed or cheap.
Special mention goes to the animators
And something that’s so rare these days; They aren’t afraid to give all of their characters flaws and let them fail, no matter their gender or how powerful they’re supposed to be. This is a show with two female leads who can beat anyone, and neither of them feels like they don’t deserve it. And they never once feel the need to belittle the men to show how cool they are. Mind you, other show creators, this is how you write strong characters, regardless of gender, that your audience can get invested in. Kudos for being able to create characters who can communicate both strong and subtle feelings more clearly than most real actors.
And kudos to the voice acting and music, both are top-notch
Overall, a very enjoyable show that gives me a glimmer of hope for future entertainment, and I can’t wait for season 2. We’ve collected every anime series and movie we could find — either created or distributed by Netflix — to see which ones have the highest ratings from IMDb users.
