A man takes his wife and teenage children on a road trip into the past while facing a divorce. Screenwriter and director Florent Bernard watched many films about parental separation and realized that they were either comedies or dramas, and there were very few films in between. Additionally, the films were always shown from the parents’ perspective and never from the children’s. So he wanted to tackle this subject by making a bittersweet comedy with nostalgia and funny scenes, while fully involving the children in the story. During the breakfast scene at the beginning of the film, Sandrine’s children look at their bowl of cereal in front of them in one shot and suddenly look at their mother standing to the side in the next shot.
