An author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, but finds that the townspeople are under attack by a bloodthirsty vampire. Author Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again. It wants to break away from the sexier, more romantic undead that have plagued pop culture over the past quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight to The Vampire Diaries. As Ben reads old newspapers on microfilm at the library, the headline reads “Local Couple Victims of Drunk Driving.” The work is believed to have been printed in 1956, at a time when the term “DUI” was not yet in use.

Ok, I just finished reading one of my favorite Stephen King novels. I’ve been anticipating seeing this for some time, at least since the whispers started that there was going to be a remake. The movie wasn’t that bad, I gave it a six (which may be too generous) because the film was worth watching.
The acting was just OK
I was hoping so much that it would be remade with the kind of money where you play everything “you”; had when the last remake was made. Everything was a bit of a mess with this one. Character development was pretty much non-existent. He could have done a lot better at developing some interest in the characters.
Why repeat something if not to highlight it?
I think it was me who raced toward the end. The ride at the end was awful, someone should have slammed on the brakes! Why? Stephen King is a wonderful author and if the production is done right, it should be wonderful.
