Every wall of this movie had me at TIFF
Pump It Up Writer: Michael Hall, Leonardo Stella Artist: Earl Gregory Producer: Julien Deguin. The casting, the atmosphere, the visual and sound design, the music, and of course the symbolism behind it all. Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley couldn’t have been more perfectly cast for the lead roles. Their dedication to the process and trust in their director was evident to me.
It is deeper
Their vulnerability turns it upside down and creates a very compelling fever dream. Everyone involved should be really proud of this film. It’s a future cult classic for me. It’s a physical/psychological horror, so don’t expect any scary moments.
But it’s also a lot of fun to watch!
